It’s no secret we love supporting local businesses. If you’ve been following along for some time now, it’s apparent we’re always seeking out that next great local gem, searching for a unique dining experience, and encouraging you to do the same.
With that being said, there are times we are thankful chain restaurants exist. I cannot tell you how many times we’ve wanted to get baked goods at 6pm on a weeknight, craved a quick and healthy meal on a Sunday night, or looked for a place to order breakfast after the dreaded cutoff time. #thestruggle
So here we go. These are our favorite chain restaurants:
Zoe’s Kitchen
At Zoe’s Kitchen you never have to worry about your healthy meal feeling like an afterthought. They get it here. Nobody wants a boring, drab salad that isn’t filling. You will never have to worry about experiencing that at Zoe’s. They manage to incorporate special ingredients that leave you feeling satisfied. And their Hummus…oh my word!
Whole Foods
Variety is key here. If you walk into Whole Foods today you might find chicken fried tofu and creole cheddar grits. Tomorrow they could be serving stewed okra and shaved Brussels with bacon. We have actually tried some foods for the first time at our local Whole Foods like cauliflower mac and cheese and BBQ jackfruit.
First Watch
A brunch spot open 7 days a week?! That’s unheard of here in Huntsville, but First Watch is a chain we are dying to have make its way here. Fresh unique ingredients, healthy options, a juice bar, avo toast, breakfast tacos, and delicious skillets with roasted veggies and goat cheese are some of the reasons we love First Watch. Next time you’re in Birmingham, hit up one of their locations to see firsthand why we need one in Huntsville!
Pieology
The pizza place for everyone! Gluten free? Vegetarian? Vegan? Meat lover? Pieology has you covered. With their wide array of toppings, sauces, and crusts, the options are endless. Who else likes corn on their pizza? I know we can’t be the only ones.
Waffle House
If we had to think of one quintessential American breakfast experience it would be Waffle House. Take the All-Star Breakfast for instance, which comes with all the classics so you don’t have to choose between grits, waffles, and bacon. When something works, you just stick with it. That couldn’t be more true for this classic diner.
Bonefish Grill
Each time we’ve dined at our local Bonefish Grill the service, food, and experience has been top notch. We love how the menu changes seasonally so you’re able to try new things, while still leaving room for your favorites like the Bang Bang Shrimp.
Cracker Barrel
You know the menu like the back of your hand, and the only decision you need to make here is biscuits or cornbread. Who doesn’t enjoy the nostalgia of walking into an old-fashioned general store? Rocking chairs, checkers, “the peg game”, and heritage-inspired products are just a few reasons to love the Cracker Barrel experience beyond the chicken and dumplings, Coca-Cola cake, and fried apples.
Dunkin Donuts
The love for Dunkin Donuts will never fade over here at Eat Huntsville. They’re delicious, beautiful, and easily accessible when the craving hits. If you scroll through our Instagram you’re guaranteed to find at least ten photos featuring these tasty treats. #eatingfortheinsta
Bojangles
Chicken and biscuits. Need we say more? The goodness continues with their all day breakfast and delicious Bo-Berry Biscuits. And who doesn’t want a free iced tea with a combo meal? Surely by now you know how much we love our breakfast foods. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to know we enjoy the egg and cheese biscuits here.
Chime in! What are some of your favorite chains?
As always, be sure to keep up with us on Instagram and Facebook!
Those all look so good!
