But first, coffee

It’s no secret that Allen and I love coffee. If you follow us on Instagram, you see we post several coffee pictures a week. We thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite coffee shops with you, and in future posts, take a further look into each of them individually. Ready? Let’s go!

Oxford Exchange – Tampa, FL

Front of Oxford Exchange at Christmas Time

Oxford Exchange holds a special place in our hearts because we had our first date here. (Leave a comment if you would like me to do a “where we met” post.)  I already feel myself wanting to ramble on about this place and tell you guys all the amazing things it has to offer, but for now I will hold back and let the coffee do the talking.

Inside Oxford Exchange is Buddy Brew Coffee, craft roaster since 2008. We have tried several drinks here; from flat whites, to cortados, and even seasonal drinks, every drink has been absolute perfection. There is a bookstore, Warby Parker, and restaurant all located inside this magical place, and you find yourself never wanting to leave. No really, we have spent hours and hours here. If you ever find yourself near Tampa, please do yourself a favor and check this place out. And take pictures, of everything.

Hindsight Coffee – Huntsville, AL

Hindsight Coffee has been our go-to stop for specialty coffee since they opened. Operating out of a truck, we love the fact that you can find Hindsight all over the Huntsville area, particularly downtown. Daniel and Lacey are some of the nicest people we’ve met, which makes us even more happy to support local businesses. We typically order a latte here, but occasionally alternate between vanilla latte and cappuccino, all of which surpass our expectations. We are thrilled to have such coffee purists right here in Huntsville!

Feast and Forest – Birmingham, AL

Feast and Forest

Feast and Forest was a surprise spot to come across in Birmingham, AL.  This is definitely the hip place to come for brunch. We already had lunch plans the day we went (hello, Hattie B’s!) so we just opted for a latte and a cinnamon roll made by Baking Bandits, which provides all the pastries and baked goods for the shop. Have you ever had a homemade Pop-Tart? Did you even know such a thing exists? Have a look.

Crema – Nashville, TN

Crema is the type of coffee shop that gives you that happy feeling as soon as you walk in. Along with coffee, Crema offers doughnuts, pastries, and my personal favorite, avocado toast. Let me tell you, this isn’t your average avocado smashed onto some toast. Here, they top the toast with goat cheese, avocado, sprouts, drizzle with olive oil, and add a bit of red pepper flakes for a kick. They also have a great space for outdoor seating, which we’re looking forward to taking advantage of this fall.

Turbo Coffee – Florence, AL

Turbo Coffee

Last but certainly not least, Turbo Coffee, formerly located inside of Greasy Hands Barbershop, is in a category of its own. We came across their Instagram several months ago and began following them because of their fantastic photography; their passion for coffee culture is evident throughout their page. When the new Turbo Coffee location opened in August, we drove two hours for their grand opening, and it was everything we expected it to be and more. In addition to coffee, they offer healthy, light bites and gluten-free baked goods.

So Huntsville, where’s your favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee?
